This south metro 1980's home underwent a massive 3-level transformation. A great room feel was created by removing a wall that separated the kitchen and living room. The tiled kitchen floor provides room separation and allows for easy cleanup, while the wide plank natural oak floors tie together the surrounding spaces. The floating staircase was a focal point in the original design and was rebuilt with materials that suit the updated aesthetic. An open loft above the kitchen was enclosed in sheetrock for a sound barrier, but a large new window allows light to flood in.
