Located in Prince's hometown of Chanhassen, MN this split level home had potential for great entertaining but its closed-off kitchen made it difficult to host large groups. Removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room in addition to closing off the kitchen's stairway overlook helped create a great room feel. Venetian plaster gives texture to the bearing wall in the kitchen and highlights the existing fireplace. Tired carpet was replaced with quarter sawn oak floors and distressed beams accentuate the vaulted ceiling. The open layout creates a clean, uncluttered look - perfect for holiday entertaining and dinner parties.
